Create your own Spa Treatments

This subsite was created to embrace the popularity of wonderfully cleansing, relaxing, and detoxifying treatments that are offered by some of the finest spas in the world. When time or money is all that prevents you from visiting a local spa for the benefits of a body wrap or a facial, visit this site to consider a variety of home spa options.

Why Spa Treatments?
According to the free dictionary, the word spa was taken from the name of the famous mineral springs in Spa, Belgium. Since then, it has become a common noun denoting any place with a medicinal or mineral spring. Of course, that is only one definition, but to me, the word "spa" is synonymous with the word "healing" and healing involves cleansing the emotional and physical aspects of self. I believe that spa treatments can positively affect both.

Dis-ease
The body experiences a physical or emotional manifestation of "dis-ease" at one time or another, which is the  accumulation of thoughts and emotions over time. Spa treatments heal through detoxification and stimulation to the senses, but they also provide other advantages to the body. Carrier and essential oils have many special benefits of their own to offer and sea salts and vegetables are stocked with minerals and other nutrients that help regulate hormones and nourish cells and organs.

Your olfactory sense is awakened through aromatherapy and it is surprising that scents have the ability to affect the way you feel. Some are calming, some are energizing, some are just delicious by default. The unmistakable benefits of touch through massage therapies are no less incredible with their abilities to improve circulation and revitalize the flow of life energy, relax tensions, and assist in reshaping the body. As if that weren't enough, the element of touch itself is soothing, and being soothed is the key that opens the doorway to healing.

Feeling good is essential to looking good and looking good has become increasingly important in this culture. Sometimes I think we believe it is the other way around, but even the most naturally "beautiful" people have a hard time looking good when they don't feel good.

When I take a mineral rich tea bath, using dried and powdered sea vegetables or a combination of powdered herbs, I know that I am providing valuable nourishment to my body while cleansing and conditioning my skin. I am soothed by the process and the smell and the very notion that my body truly relies on nature's bounties to stay in peak condition and that I am able to facilitate it. This gives me emotional benefits that carry me throughout the day.

I never ever forget that emotional health is first and foremost in importance, because emotionally healthy people are physically healthy people. The word disease spells it out for us when we separate the word into syllables (dis-ease). If we are not at ease with who we are, who is around us, or how we are living our lives, our thoughts and emotions tend to go awry, causing a variety of physical manifestations that are directly related to perceptions, thoughts, and emotions that we have nursed over time. If you are embarking on a healing journey, I hope that you will consider a balance of both aspects of healing; emotional and physical.

This site was developed to introduce you to a variety of spa ingredients, techniques and modalities and forever place them on your radar. I have been around for a very long time, but I can honestly say that until I started paying attention to how I am feeling and until I decided to do whatever it takes to be happy, I really wasn't living at all. Running around in "default mode" allows you to be a victim of circumstance, but conscious living allows you to shape and mold your life in any way you choose. Spa treatments make the entire experience joyful and delicious. Welcome to our spa subsite!

Materials
I have spent a great deal of time researching spa treatments and even longer searching for the most reputable suppliers of quality raw materials to make your own. While herbs, salts and clays have been easier to locate, it has been more difficult to find Moor Mud (Borneo Peat) in a form that has not already been turned into a costly pre-mixed product. I am pleased to report that one supplier "From Nature with Love" carries Moor Mud in its raw form. They are located in Connecticut and they also carry a large inventory of other raw materials.

FNWL

Mountain Rose Herbs is another supplier of raw materials including clays, herbs, and salts. They are located in Oregon.

As I continue to research and experiment with home spa treatments, I will be adding to this subsite. Until then, I hope you enjoy the information I have gathered so far.
